The Food house was totally flattened, a portion of the office roof blew off and the water cause damage to documents and equipment. > In 2004 another hurricane squashed the Tabernacle. The last great storm to hit the island was Hurricane Gilbert, wich roared ashore in 1988. > Officially the hurricane season lasts from June 1 to November 30; August and September are peak month.
